  • Permanent
  • Salary: circa £49,350 per annum

As a Business Transformation - Project Manager, you will work within a small transformation team, co-ordinating and delivering a range of projects.

The projects the transformation team are involved with are diverse, including scoping, specifying, and implementing new systems or modules within our Housing Management System, mapping and improving current processes or customer journeys, and implementing new services or contracts. The transformation team take a business partnering approach. This means your role in each project will be flexible. For more complex, multi-team projects you may need to directly project manage, for others you will have a more advisory, supportive role to the project team rather than direct day-to-day management.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate the development of realistic, well researched business cases for projects which will resolve business or customer problems and deliver measurable benefits.
  • Support the development of project specifications and requirements, ensuring the proposed change is capable of meeting both current and future business or customer requirements.
  • Where necessary, support with mapping existing processes, identifying potential process improvements and mapping the proposed enhanced processes.
  • Where necessary, work closely with the ICT team when the project involves new systems or system modules, to ensure the requirements are fully understood, ICT resource is available and the system build progresses to time, including testing and sign off.
  • Ensure all projects remain on track, with any risks appropriately escalated, and regular progress updates provided to key people including directors.

 

The ideal candidate with have excellent project management skills and knowledge of effective project management techniques. We are open to projects managers who are self-taught; you don't need a formal project management qualification to apply, just evidence of previous experience. You will have a good understanding of information technology, including experience of delivering technical specifications and working in collaboration with technical teams. You will be confident in managing stakeholders, with the ability to work across multiple projects and operational areas at once. You will have excellent communication skills and able to translate between colleagues in different business areas. You will have clear and persuasive written communication skills, able to produce documentation for stakeholders at all levels. While experience of the social housing sector is not essential, this may be beneficial.
