WISH East Hosts Informative Session on Women's Health with Renowned Speakers
WISH East recently hosted a highly anticipated event focused on Menopause in the Workplace - No time to Step Back with two distinguished speakers: Adam Pavey, Partner & Head of Employment at the leading law firm Beyond Corporate and Helen Tomlinson is the UK Government's first-ever Menopause Champion.
Helen Tomlinson and Adam Pavey, both recognised for their contributions on national media platforms, delivered engaging presentations that delved into the complexities of the menopause and women's health. They emphasised the impact of hormonal changes on women's lives and underscored the importance of providing adequate support systems. Their insights resonated with attendees, shedding light on the challenges women face and the need for open, respectful conversations about their health.
The event, which was free for all participants, provided a platform for meaningful discussions and valuable insights into women's health issues in the workplace. Attendees expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from Helen and Adam, highlighting the session as informative and inspiring.
The timing of the event coincided with the release of guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68366519), clarifying legal obligations towards workers experiencing menopause. While this development is a positive step, the session emphasised that menopause is just one aspect of women's health issues, highlighting the ongoing need for progress and support.
